Thank you for visiting the Ten Bucks Theatre Company website.
An ensemble theatre company, committed to bringing quality, enriching, affordable and stimulating theatre to central Maine.
We regret to say that currently Ten Bucks Theatre Co. is homeless! This is not a position we are happy with, but we are actively pursuing options for a new base. However, in these difficult economic times, options, like our budget, are limited. This is where you, our patrons (and anyone else for that matter!), might be able to help us.
Obviously, an as yet unidentified, but generous, benefactor prepared to offer us a fully appointed, 300-seat theater, at a rent of $5 a year is our ideal. But we are realists. Maybe you have, you know of someone else who has or you are involved with an organization that has, a facility within the greater Bangor area that we could use as our home?
Ideally, we are looking for the ongoing lease or periodic rental (at a reasonable rate) of premises that would:
• provide a good sized performing and rehearsal space,
• be able to accommodate between 150 and 200 patrons as a minimum,
• have some capacity for scenery and costume storage,
• be able to give us some on-site basic office facilities.
A very particular list, we know; but it is best to be clear when looking for help!!
If you feel you may be in a position to help, please get in touch through the ‘Contact Us' section of this website and someone from Ten Bucks will contact you. We will keep any such contact strictly confidential.
Can You Help Us……….Again?
Actually, perhaps this would be better described as ‘Do You Want To Get Involved With A Professional Theatre Company?
Organizations thrive when they have the benefit of members with complementary talents, skills, commitment and life experiences – we are no exception. If you’ve ever thought you might like to become involved in a theatrical company – whether in the spotlight or behind the scenes, there's a place for you.
We're always looking to expand our pool of actors, technical crew, production designers and directors; in fact, all of the functions necessary to deliver successful live-theatre. We know from experience that the value of "supporting roles" inhabited by volunteers can't be underestimated.
Specifically roles include (and this list is not exhaustive):
• front of house staff/box office
• stage management,
• licensed electricians – especially those with experience in stage lighting
• carpenters,
• scenery designers/artists/painters
• directors,
• musicians,
Advertizing in and/or sponsorship of our show playbills and newsletter might also be a cost effective way to reach a very discerning demographic!
Finally, we would always be grateful for any financial contribution – particularly as they would be tax deductible to the donor.
Do you feel you can help? Right, well what’s up with you then? Waste no more time – get in touch with us through the ‘Contact Us’ page!
